I was fortunate to have had the chance to train with Craig at his first course in September. It was a very high level seminar and I got to train with a lot of experienced people, as well as some other folks who were just starting out. Despite the fact that we all arrived at the course with a diverse range of levels of experience, most were able to keep up and progress in most of the training. Craig is a methodical trainer and he will not let you make the same mistakes twice. He will drill you until you get it right. My favorite part about his training is he constantly challenges his students to think about things in a new way. After you have been around for a while, you get into a routine and your mind tends to think about things the same way every time. Anything new, even if it is commonplace in a martial arts or self-defense context, can cause a big shift in your thinking. Craig does a great job of getting you to think in new ways and challenging your assumptions about what you are capable of. The seminar covered a lot of material, especially for those new to the Shivworks system. It was tough, but just when I thought I could not do any more, I was in the habit of hitting a bag or moving around my fighting position and was shocked at what I could still learn. I started to think that if this is all there is, then this is a pretty good way to spend my time. I looked forward to the next course and was glad to have been able to participate in it. I was told that it would be tougher than the first one, and I am glad to say that I was right. Craig is a man of many talents and he is a great teacher, as well as a very effective instructor. Craig is an outstanding instructor. I’ve had the opportunity to train with him for over five years, and I can say without reservation that he is one of the most gifted teachers I have ever had the pleasure to train under. He combines extensive knowledge of martial arts with years of experience in security and personal safety. He is a man of uncommon mind and heart, and I’ve never met a more humble, kind person. Craig is a student of Ki and will do whatever it takes to impart that skill to you. He is also a master of tang so his classes are a joy to attend. Craig is a very accomplished individual, and he is dedicated to the pursuit of helping others. Anyone who is serious about martial arts and personal development should sign up for a class, regardless of level. This man will leave an indelible mark on you, and anyone who knows him could only have the highest respect for him. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. 827ec27edc
